The worst has happened :o(  Very sad Puppies Update Tuesday, July 28, 2009:   I’ve just returned from the vet with the pups for a check up and re-upped their meds.  The Master/Saida pups have Parvo and not the common strain, but it seems the quick acting Parvo 2C Strain.   On Saturday evening, Black Collar boy (largest male) didn’t eat dinner.  This was about 8pm.  At 6am, Sunday, the next morning I found him huddled and very, very sick and dehydrated looking.  I put him on a Lactated Ringer.  However by 8am he was dead L   I never did see any bloody diarrhea or vomiting, which are the typical symptoms.  It seemed almost like he was poisoned as he went down so quickly.   On Sunday, blue boy and dark pink girl felt very bad and I had them on IV and antibiotics and Reglan.  Light pink girl and lime green were still eating.  Monday morning lime green starting vomiting and bloody diarrhea and was very sick.  Even with treatment he died around 10pm last night L   Right now blue collar and dark pink are eating raw liver and heart and recovering and even biting and playing some.  It seems with this strain that it hits hard and they either die or recover quick.  Light pink is feeling crappy, but still bright eyed.  They are all on fluids and meds.  I hope for the best.  I believe D’Only and I must have brought home the Parvo from the vet last Tuesday.  D’Only cut his side on who knows what on Monday here at the ranch.  It was serious enough to need sutures.  I took him on Tuesday morning and returned with him in the afternoon.  From what I’ve read on the C Strain, 80% mortality is normal.  I guess I should feel better about them beating the odds, but I don’t.  It’s so sad.  Blue collar is barking his head off right now as he I have him outside and in an x-pen for a few minutes and he wants to play..a good sign.  July 29 @ 3:30am - The light pink collar girl (biggest) girl is doing 100% better this morning. I had her in my lap most of yesterday afternoon on Lactated Ringer's. I think she's on her way to becoming a TV addict now ;o) She's not eating yet this morning, but drinking and has better spirits.  Blue and Dark Pink are both still eating and drinking and almost back to normal spirits.  Blue has been latching onto my sweats any chance he gets since yesterday.  Both barking obnoxiously for attention which is so good to see.
