"JR" is an own Grandson of Sugar Bars.  He passes on his extreme athletic ability, beautiful head and wonderful character to his offspring.  JR is owned and bred by Barrie Abbott-Steward of Cahilla Verde Quarter Horses, Anza, CA, barrie.cvranch@gmail.com  and cell # 951-551-6118.  I am very proud to call my ranch JR's home.   As a 2 year old, JR had a couple months under saddle.  In 2005, following 10 years standing at Cahilla Verde Ranch, I put him back under saddle.  JR now rides in a hackamore on trail with mares and other stallions.  This is a testimony to his willing, stable temperament.  Standing 14.2 hands, he has the fastest walk and smoothest gaits of any quarter horse I've ridden.  Photo (above right) is JR and 9 year old Paint Stallion "Diego"  taken during a 3 hour trail ride through Wilson Creek, December 2005.  Photo (above left) JR & me taking a break during a day of trail riding with friends in Gardner Valley, CA.
 
We believe that horses should have a good quality of life by living together in open spaces and free fed grass or grass hay.  Above left is JR with mares (Chica, Buena, Missy).  Our stallion is social and kind with other horses in his herd.  We expect our stallion to be a good using horse with a lot of heart and try and to have excellent manners around horses, other animals and people of all ages.
